GMK & Co is a conveyancing practice based in Hurstville. You can contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

What we collect, and why

When you engage us to act on a conveyancing matter, we collect personal information reasonably necessary to carry out that work and to meet our legal obligations. This includes your name, contact details, identification information, and financial and property details relevant to your matter. We’re also required by law to verify your identity and assess certain risk factors under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth). We’re also required by separate NSW law to sight and keep a copy of identification documents for verification of identity purposes. If you don’t provide the information we need, we may not be able to act for you.

Who we might share it with

We only share your information where it’s needed to act on your matter or where we’re required to by law. This may include AUSTRAC, your bank or lender, the other party’s conveyancer or lawyer, identity verification and sanctions screening services, and our case management and eConveyancing systems.

Overseas disclosure

We don’t expect to send your information overseas. The systems we use store information within Australia.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, and we don’t keep it for longer than we need to. Once information is no longer required for your matter or for any legal obligation, we securely destroy or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that’s wrong. Just contact us using the details below.
